Sometimes you watch a movie so riveting that it changes you in some ways. Maybe that film isn't even that stellar...the storyline was questionnable, the scenario was off but somehow it sticks with you. This is what happened last week when I watched Fur, An imaginary portrait of Diane Arbus. The weird storyline inthralled me so much that I was left think about it for a while. Don't get me wrong...it's got nothing on David Lynch but still, seeing a repressed housewife (Nicole Kidman) fall for a wolf-men (Robert Downey Jr) captivated me. You're probably gonne ask yourself what this has to do with my fashion blog!? Well, the costumes just happen to be nothing short of brillant because Nicole Kidman's caracter comes from a family that owns a fur compagnie. Today's outfit was definitely influenced by it. If you feel like watching beautiful 1950 costumes go rent it.

PS: I just want to specifie that I don't condone buying new for items made of fur and think that recycling is better. Why kill a beautiful animal for a coat than trow it away afterwards. Trust me, I have a ferret (they kind of look like minks) and the last thing I want is to kill more than were already killed.

Ok this film looks seriously cool!
Also your fur looks soo soft and I love the colour on you and now the best part: that versace vest!!!!! Not a word of a lie at fashion week last week, at the Denis Gagnon show there was a girl wearing the same one and I desperately tried to get a good shot of it to no avail but alas I just ended up with shots of this gal with long dreads (lol) so i didn't publish the picture. And now I come here and see you in it!!! SO AWESOME!!!!!
you have the best designer thrifted finds!!!!
xx
The movie was, as you said, "questionable", but I did love the fashion. Your take on the looks are fantastic! Love the Hermes. Exquisite work yet again.

your outfit is amazing, i love the vest and shoes. fabulous. :)
I love your make up doll! cute ;)
I´m so with you on the fur sector- vintage is alright, buying something new I think I´d feel majorly guilty- for the animal and my purse!
you´re looking darling again (why do I never seem to find any decent vintage fur?) but have you ever thought of getting a more ashy blonde? it would bring out your crystal eyes so well!

I
vest and fur are to die for.
simple as that.

love the vest and as a vegan I'm fine with the fact that you are recycling a fur coat. It's the people that buy new ones that really get to me. I just did a post about it you should check it out. Anyway all I know is that I need a faux fur coat now!
I L-O-V-E your style! It is just so fantastic! I love the suede vest and the shoes. Thanks for the comment btw..

would love it if you could check out my blog at http://blacktobianco.blogspot.com/ xo
This movie didn't make such a splash in NZ. I think it went straight to DVD. But now I know Robert Downey is in it, I definitely might give it a try. I love Diane Arbus' photos!
And the gold accents in your dress are completely wonderful. Fantastic hair as always ;)
Your vest is amazing! Haven't watched Fur yet though. It will go on my movie list during my spring break :)
Your looking really good

um you look beyond cute. i LOVEE your jackett lovely!
Totally agree about fur - vintage is a different story to new - I would never add to the fur trade but if its already ben dead for 30 years then it is a bit different. Good look
