I woke up this morning with my ears still ringing from the concert I went to last night. The Sounds is definitely one of my favorite bands to see live and with the amount I've seen in my life you have to know that this is a lot for me to say. I've always had a girl crush on the lead singer Maja and I can honestly say that it has grown again yesterday. How could it not!? The girl just emanates sex appeal with her burlesque kicks and sexually subjective motive. It also doesn't hurt that the girl has some serious style, maybe even one of my favorite ever. My closet seemed so boring this morning I didn't even want to get dressed...Now I really want to buy a pair of backseam tights so that I can rip them up. I loved that she took one of the most elegant, classic and ladylike accessorie and gave it a total rock and roll vibe.

Next week is The Kills and The Horrors and I already know what to wear...lol. Can't you tell I'm excited!?

PS. Sorry for my lack of updates as of late, I'e been running a fever for the last 3 days. Yes, I know! It's not really the best idea to go to a concert when you're sick but I just couldn't miss it.

Don't you just love the fact that the girl on the left dresses up for a concert. I love the shape and color of her dress!! It was a really nice contrast to the flock of girl wearing The Sounds shirt* and skinny jeans. As for the other girls, they show really well how to update and take basic pieces to another level. Looking good!

* Now listen up everybody! I'm not the kind of girl that follows or believes in fashion rules but I truly think that wearing the band's t-shirt to their concert is the one of the biggest Don't ever. I mean come on, everybody knows you like the band, you're at the freakin' concert!!

Another thing I like to recycle maybe just as much as clothing from past eras is old books. The folded corner at the top of the page you encounter while reading the book reminds you that someone has lived through the exact same motion and emotions. I make it my mission to pick up at least one book everytime I go thrifting so that I can fill my bookcase with classics such as Wuthering heights and Sense and sensibility. If the power ever goes out or if a snow storm confines me to my house I know that I will always have something on hand to read. Today, I started reading The Glass Castle a memoir by Jeanette Walls. It's so good that I literally can't put it down. Did any of you read it!? What is your favorite book? I also decided to keep today's outfit basic as I wanted to be comfortable while reading in my outdoor swinging sofa.

Yesterday, I didn't have the time time to post my outfit of the day because we were celebrating my younger brothers 14th Birthday with dinner, cupcakes and a family game of Guitar Hero. This event ended the week-end on a perfect note!

The ray of the sun I could feel on my skin today fooled me into thinking it was already summer. As the week-end tradition goes, My friend Claudine and I decided to scavenger the flea market as it was another beautiful day. Although I'm really excited that the climate is being more compliant theses days, I have to admit that I'm going to miss the variety of outfit choices that come with the ability to layer. In the summer, it's much more obvious when you're wearing the same thing twice and you can't get away with as much!!

To me, the summer, other than being announced with the celsius climbing, is announced by the rising amount of concerts on my calender. Even if it's only april, I already have a couple of event and festivals lined-up. In the next two weeks, I'm going to see two of my favorite bands live: The Sounds and The Kills! Excitement is slowy taking over me and I really hope that their performances will be as amazing as they were the last time I saw them. The music festival Osheaga is also coming fast with a good line-up (although i'm really hoping for Yeah Yeah Yeahs, She & Him and Regina Spektor to be added to the playlist!!!). I'm thinking doing some concert styling...What do you guys think!? I know I always pull my best outfits when I'm going to a concert!

The wind was showing a mind of it's own yesterday morning when I tried to capture my daily outfit on film. I almost wound up naked multiple times as well as getting choked up on my hair one time too many. While taking these shots, my new favorite white tank/tunic almost transformed into a parachute because it is so flowy. I seriously can not wait to wear it this summer on hot and humid days after a swim in the pool. The week-end is supposed to be super amazing here in Montreal so some friends and I have decided that we needed to enjoy it while spending the night on a terrace. I think you can see by now how much we enjoy spent some time lounging outside in the sunshine with a good beer/drink in our hands as we almost do it every Friday/Saturday.

Have fun!

When some people get asked who their biggest fashion influence is it's not uncommon to hear them answer to the question with : my mother. Maybe because she is the first person you've ever layed your eyes upon, that you've admired her everyday growing up as you were playing dress up in her size 8 heels. Unfortunately for me, it's not my case. As much as I adore my mom, she's not very fashion inclined...or make-up inclined. Don't get me wrong, my mother is good-looking, takes care of herself and dresses well but I seems to be the one teaching her on the subject. While getting ready for an event or a party, she's the one coming to me for advice or to get her make-up done and not the other way around. I can't count the number of times she's wondered aloud where my passion came from and why I was so interested in everything that has to do with fashion. But you know what! Even if it would sometimes be cool to have a mother who knows all the hot designers, I think It might even be more fun to be the one teaching her.

PS. As you can see, yesterday the thrifting god smiled upon me once again. I had been thinking a lot yesterday as to why I hadn't found a vintage designer piece in a while. I almost though my luck was gone...well, NOT!

Daily experiences really do influence our style and today I'm the living proof. 3 weeks after going to the Imagine exhibit about the bed-in of John Lennon and Yoko Ono you can still spot the effect it had on me. Today I went shopping downtown with my sister and her boyfriend when I came upon these sunglasses at H&M. I immediately picked them up, bought them and put them on. I love that it is kind of a dual influence with Mary-Kate wearing these kind of sunglasses so often...

After some beer and cheap chicken wings, I decided to catch up of all the new releases I've been wanting to see and rented a BUNCH of movies. Tonight, I cried my eyes out watching Marley and Me...anything to do with dog and you've got me!!

Hope everyone had as much fun this week-end as I did.
xoxo
