There would be no point in ever denying it, I love a good bargain and thrifting. It’s all about the chase and believe me, finding that fabulous item for a lot less then their similar counterparts always makes my day. Hell, my week depending on the item (my Chanel would easily qualify in this category).
However, they are some rookie mistakes that everyone should avoid. Buying something just because it’s on sale is never a good idea. Believe me, it WILL stay hanging in your closet for a very long time or until you decide to give it away.
Last Saturday, my friends and I tested our expertise in treasure hunting at the S.W.A.P team event Take Off Your Clothes while jumping at the change to clear out some of those unwanted items from MY closet all at the same time.
Because my friends had already done their closet spring cleaning, I was the one who provided the clothes for all of our little group. Two garbage bags later, we were ready to battle for the gems. We had allowed ourselves about 2 hours to scavenge through the place and find our loot but let’s just say there was a change of plan.
Let me be honest one minute, at first glance we were not that impress with the quality of the clothing. Everything on the hanger seemed dated and the nice stuff was already in the hand of their new owner. However, we soon discovered that the real pot of gold was in the boxes brought in by the Swap team at 5 minute intervals so be ready to dig in!
Ikat Dress: Suzy Shier - Fringe Bag: Flea Market - Studded Gladiator Sandals: Giant Tiger
The 2 hours allowed soon turned into 5 and the swap came to an end. We all went home with a bag (or a box in the case of my friend Claudine) of stuff we loved. Best off all, I went home with far less then I had come with…can you say fashionable spring cleaning!
No doubt some of the stuff I got will make it onto the blog but I just wanted to give you a sneak preview of some of brands I found : Betsey Johnson, Juicy Couture, Lanvin, Bloch, Groggy, H&M, Zara, UO…
If I could, I would definitely make a road trip to their next event….

I've heard of these before and I really want to go to one! It must've been crazyyy. I mean, I would feel like a seagull fighting over a spilled lunch at a beach. Except the spilled food would be clothes, which makes it awesome, haha.
