L'une de mes choses favorites à faire lorsque je vais en voyage c'est d'explorer le nouveau territoire shopping qui s'offre à moi. Tous les nouveaux magasins où il est possible d'apercevoir les préférences mode les locaux et ainsi faire du people watching. Pendant que mon père et mon frère écoutaient la game de hockey dans un bar sport, nous les filles avons décidé de faire un peu de window shopping. Je dois être honnête, mes attentes côté mode dominicaine n'étaient pas très élevé.

Quelle surprise m'attendait quand j'aperçu les chaussures jelly de Vivienne Westwood pour Melissa dans la vitrine d'un magasin (toute la collection en plus!). J'ai même pu les essayer (merci dieux pour les grandes tailles en display!). Ce fut un véritable coup de foudre! J'ai même appercue du D&G, See by Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Missoni et la liste est longue...

On of my favourite thing about traveling will always be shopping in a vast new territory. All the new shops where you can spot the local's fashion preference and all the amazing people watching. While the brother and father watched the hockey game in a sports bar, us girls decided to do some retail therapy. I have to be honest, my fashion hopes weren't too high about what I'd find in Dominican Republic.

What a surprise was in store for me when I stopped the Vivienne Westwood for Melissa jelly heels in a store window (and the whole collection at that). I even got to try them on (thank god for displaying the largest size!!). It was love at first sight! I also spotted some D&G, See by Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Missoni and the list goes on and on...

Je ne connais pas une femme qui aime magasiner pour des maillots de bain. En tout cas, je sais que personnellement je déteste. Toujours le mauvais éclairage, tous les habille/déshabille font de cette expérience une recette pour le désastre. Tout l'hiver, j'ai rêvé des costumes de bain une-pièce que je pourrais porter dans le sud. Et deviner quoi!? J'ai trouvé pas 1, pas 1 mais 5 maillots de bain dans lesquels je me sentais jolie et confiante.

Mon préféré est celui en léopard. Son look pin-up classique! J'aimais aussi le fait que je me sentais assez à l'aise pour jouer au soccer de plage (avec mon petit frère qui n'est plus si petit) en le portant. Tout restait bien à sa place. Le second pourrait facilement résulter en un tan line assez désastreux mais bon, comme je n'aime pas vraiment m'étendre au soleil je n'ai eu aucun problème de ce côté.

I don't know one women that loves shopping for swimwear. I know I certainly am one of them. The wrong lighting, all the dressing up and down is definitely a recipe for disaster. I had been dreaming all winter of one piece bathing suits (especially in retro shape) to wear on my next vacation. And Guess what!? I found not one, not two but 5 swimsuit that I felt confident and beautiful in. Here are two of them!

My favorite one is the leopard one. Such a classic bombshell look! I also like that I felt secure enough to play beach soccer in it (with my not-so-little-anymore brother). Everything stayed in place. The second one may be a tanning hazard but since I don't like laying in the sun I just enjoyed it's fun shape!

Craving: Lace!

Seaside Breeze

Parfois, quand on part en vacance dans le sud, on devient trop excité de porter tous nos vêtements d'été (surtout après un hiver québécois). Trop de robes chics, trop de talons hauts inconfortables et beaucoup trop d'accessoires encombrants. Bref, on se retrouve avec des bagages remplis des mauvaises choses. Je dois avouer ne pas être la meilleure quand vient le temps de voyager léger. J'ai déjà fait un roadtrip avec deux poches de hockey rempli au max...pas très pratique dans un bus Greyhound!

En revanche, cette fois-ci, j'ai choisi mes outfits avec précaution et j'ai arrêté mon choix sur des morceaux avec lesquels je pouvais faire plusieurs combinaisons. Trois de mes items les plus versatiles ont été la chemise de jeans du post précédent, ma merveilleuse ceinture de cuir tressé brune (elle va avec tout!) et finalement, mon petit sac de grandeur parfaite (contenait en tout temps ma clé de chambre, mon gloss, mes lunettes soleil et ma caméra). Ne trouver vous pas que bien faire ses valises rend voyager beaucoup plus plaisant... pas besoin d'obsédé à savoir quoi mettre!

Sometimes, when going on a vacation where the weather is warm, you get all excited to wear summer clothes and often end up packing all the wrong things. Too many evening dresses, too many high heels and way too many accessories. Basically, you end up with nothing usefull. I have to be honest with the fact that this is how I used to pack. I once went on a road trip with two full hockey bag... so not practical on a Greyhound bus!

However, this time around, I chose each outfit carefully and picked pieces that I could mix and max pretty easily. Three of my trusty items for the week were the jean shirt from the previous post, this great brown woven leather belt (it goes with everything) and my perfect sized across the body bag (holds my gloss, room key, sunglasses and camera at all time). Don't you find that packing well makes for an easier vacation...no need to obsess over what to wear!

Une semaine de vacances passe excessivement vite! Malgré tout, je suis très contente de revenir à ma petite routine et de pouvoir recommencer à bloguer. Je suis désolée du manque d'update au cours de la dernière semaine, mais l'internet de l'hôtel où je restais n'était pas super. Surtout, je n'avais pas la patience de dealer avec un ordinateur têtu quand la mer appelait mon nom. J'ai tout de même eu le temps de prendre quelques photos d'outfit que je posterai au courant de la semaine.

A week of vacation goes by so fast and yet, I'm quite happy to be back to my little routine and back to blogging. I apologize for the lack of update while I was away but the internet was pretty crappy therefore I could not find the patience to deal with a stubborn computer when the beach was calling my name. I did, however, find the time to take some outfit pictures which I will be posting throughout the week.

Cette semaine a définitivement été l'une des plus occupées depuis un bout de temps. J'essayais de terminer tout mon boulot avant de quitter pour les vacances.

Ceci est l'ensemble que j'ai porté au souper de Pâques. Je trouve qu'il est facilement possible de déceler l'inspiration que je tire souvent de Diane Kruger en regardant cette combinaison de vêtements. La seule chose manquante: une belle paire de souliers rouges!

The week has been one of the most hectic week in a while. I was trying to get all my work done before leaving on vacation.

This is the outfit I wore to Easter diner. I feel you can really sense my Diane Kruger admiration in this outfit. Oh! and I really need to get a great pair of red heels...to thing missing to this outfit!

Et que le décompte commence...mon départ en vacance est prévu pour dans 4 jours (vendredi midi!). Je m'en vais visiter ma soeur à Punta Cana (RD) et j'ai pas encore vraiment l'impression de le réalisé. Mes valises ne sont même pas commencées. Je suis tellement énervée à l'idée d'être réunie avec la soeurette parce que 4 mois, c'est long! N'importe qui ayant une soeur dont elle/il est proche pourrait en témoigner!

La fin de semaine passée fut occupée avec le travail, le souper de Pâques, le beau temp, les preuves photographiques et le plus amusant de tout, un arrêt au marché aux puces.

Je voudrais aussi remercier tous les gens m'ayant souhaité bonne chance dans mes nouveaux projets!

And the count down begins... I leave for vacation in 4 days (friday at noon) to visit my sister in Punta Cana (DR). It seem I can't realize it yet. I'm so excited to finally be reunited with her because any person that is close to a sibling will agree with me when I say that 4 months is a long time being apart!

Last weekend was occupied with work, eater diner, beautiful weather, photographic evidence and most fun of all, flea market stop.
