Ethnic Bag

Bag: Flea Market
I'm a huge sucker for anything with flowers. Be it as a cute floral print or as a rosette appliqué I want it all. Whether the inspiration is 90's or prairie girl, they are about a million different ways to wear the trend. Basically, it goes with just about any styles.

However, there is an overload of floral print in the stores so I've been trying to find a great variable for the trend. Enter ethnic prints, beading and inspiration.

Alice was the one who pointed out this bag to me at the flea market last sunday. kind of the perfect addition to a simple black dress to give it that low-key bohemian look.

The arrival of summer weather means a lot of change in the closet department. Usually, those changes are welcomed with open arms but, once in a while, there are there wardrobe staples you just can’t bear to part with even if the summer heat becomes unbearable.

For me, one of those items is my leather jacket. Featured countless times on the blog and worn with just about everything (from floral dresses to simple jeans and white T), it is an integral part of my look. Unfortunately, a leather coat in august would be a
pretty stupid idea!

Meet it’s summer cousin, a thrifted wet look lightweight version so I can still feel like myself (my leather jacket has pretty much become an integral part of me!) in the coming months.

They are definitely some articles of clothing that are not very suburb friendly. High waisted short may be very high up on that list especially when the said bottoms are pleated.

Is it weird that I kind of enjoy that looks of questioning that I get from people who wonder why I’m wearing the same short as their grandmother!? I always find myself snickering when I notice passersby getting that good look of my look. I say, if I stopped myself from wearing thing that gather too much attention in my neighbourhood I wouldn’t get the change to wear some of my favourite pieces.

I say embrace the attention and the looks!

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight...

I've always been a huge animal lover. So much so that my friends are getting sick of my ooohing and aaawwwing over cute doggies or cats. It has even become an inside joke and I've inherited the name Snow Fucking White (I know I've told you all of this before...Oh well!). Hell, I've even spent half of my trip to Dominican Republic taking pictures of exotic birds.

It's only natural that I've always had a passion for animal replica jewelery. Even if I don't usually wear brooches I can't stop myself from buying them. They are just soooo pretty to look at.

______________________________

Take Off Your Clothes

There would be no point in ever denying it, I love a good bargain and thrifting. It’s all about the chase and believe me, finding that fabulous item for a lot less then their similar counterparts always makes my day. Hell, my week depending on the item (my Chanel would easily qualify in this category).

However, they are some rookie mistakes that everyone should avoid. Buying something just because it’s on sale is never a good idea. Believe me, it WILL stay hanging in your closet for a very long time or until you decide to give it away.

Last Saturday, my friends and I tested our expertise in treasure hunting at the S.W.A.P team event Take Off Your Clothes while jumping at the change to clear out some of those unwanted items from MY closet all at the same time.

Photobucket

Because my friends had already done their closet spring cleaning, I was the one who provided the clothes for all of our little group. Two garbage bags later, we were ready to battle for the gems. We had allowed ourselves about 2 hours to scavenge through the place and find our loot but let’s just say there was a change of plan.

Photobucket

Let me be honest one minute, at first glance we were not that impress with the quality of the clothing. Everything on the hanger seemed dated and the nice stuff was already in the hand of their new owner. However, we soon discovered that the real pot of gold was in the boxes brought in by the Swap team at 5 minute intervals so be ready to dig in!

The 2 hours allowed soon turned into 5 and the swap came to an end. We all went home with a bag (or a box in the case of my friend Claudine) of stuff we loved. Best off all, I went home with far less then I had come with…can you say fashionable spring cleaning!

No doubt some of the stuff I got will make it onto the blog but I just wanted to give you a sneak preview of some of brands I found : Betsey Johnson, Juicy Couture, Lanvin, Bloch, Groggy, H&M, Zara, UO

If I could, I would definitely make a road trip to their next event….
