La grande virée shopping LOULOU

Photobucket

I think it is pretty much safe to say that summer has taken its last breath! The air is getting chillier by the minute and my huge cozy sweaters are slowly becoming attached to my skin.

That wind is bringing more than seasonal changes. You’ve probably noticed how MIA I’ve been lately and to my defense that absence has been for quite a good reason. I’ve just started a new job!!!

After years of sharing my love of movies on a daily basis (the very mundane profession that is video store clerk! lol), I now get to spend my days at a job that makes me so happy I can’t wipe the stupid grin off of my face. Surrounded by a fabulous team, I get to share my unconditional love for fashion, photography, food and blogging every day.

I’ve already met so many interesting people and I can’t wait to see what the future brings. For all, I now think of getting up in the morning as a true pleasure instead of a chore. That makes me pinch myself every 10 seconds to see if I am not daydreaming! Will keep you posted for developments!

For now, enjoy some pictures from our last (probably…it’s kind of hard to say. You never know what the weather may bring!) picnic of the summer. The dress I’m wearing has fast become one of my favorites. It was a lucky find at this shady yard sale around Claudine’s neighbourhood.

This lady straight out of Sound Garden’s Black Hole Sun music video complete with orange leathery face and paint by number makeup had fun telling me about memories she had made while wearing the said dress (it involved a trip to Greece in her early twenties).

After a deep wash (not to be mean but the women was disgusting!), the dress was hanging proudly in my closet waiting to be worn.

Only one outing later, I think it’s safe to say that the designers showing a lot of whites for spring/summer 2011 reveals my dress has a bright future as a key component in my closet!

Montreal Excursion Part 1: Eva B

Photobucket

Being known as the true die hard vintage fan amongst my entourage and throughout the blogosphere, I get asked one question repeatedly: What is your favorite vintage find? Although some might think that may be a hard question for me to answer due to my rapidly growing vintage collection. It’s just not. One word: CHANEL!

Once upon a dreary day (somewhere around 2007-2008), I made a quick stop to one thrifting spot I always visited while I was in school. I would always try to sneak an hour here and there to rumble through the stacked racks and humongous piles of clothing. That place is Eva B.

It’s a rare feat to have me discouraged while thrifting but that place does it. Even if I stop by at least one every couple of months I never seem to find anything. Probably due to the overwhelming amount of crazy stuff decorating the store. Those crazy looking mannequins are damn scary! I would not like to get locked up in that store at night.

The one exception to my always-leave-empty-handed curse on this place was my favorite bag in the world. A vintage Chanel (yes, the one you’ve seen countless time on the blog) for only 25$. I though it was too good to be true and in mint condition at that. Who would give their baby away? Well, after having it authenticated countless times amongst experts I can officially call it a fashion miracle.
Don’t get discouraged and stop by…who knows what you may find!
