Every year, as soon as the first spring/summer music festival line-ups are announced, most of my style inspiration seems to be stirred by the bands playing as well as my palpable anticipation for the carefree summer days most of those festivals provide. To kick off that time of the year, I road-tripped to Toronto at the beginning of March to see one of my favorite bands ever Bright Eyes (if not my absolute favorite). It was then that I discovered Lauren Burhenn. Her new band, The MynaBirds was the opening act. I have to be honest and admit that the first reason I fell in like with the band was because of Lauren’s style. Her yellow 60’s dress was just was too cute to ignore. Since then, I’ve truly fallen in love with her perfect mix of 60s vintage and bohemian flair…and her hair! Swoon! She is making me want to cut my bangs.

By the way, I don’t know if you’ve seen the Osheaga line-up? I am beyond thrilled about some of the acts…especially Bright eyes. I can’t wait to see what Lauren wears on stage because, if you didn’t know, she is also Bright eyes’ keyboardist /back-up singer (and Conor’s lover, me thinks ;)) As a way of building up the excitement, I will be doing posts about some of the most stylish acts you can expect to see in August as well as some other bands I would LOVE to see added to the bill.
