It’s that
time of the year again, when everything is jolly and fun…and no, I am not talking
about Christmas! It’s time to put on your best DIY costume (forget about all
that store bought crap!) and celebrate Halloween, my favourite holiday of them
all.
This year,
I was in charge of confecting not 1, not 2 but 8 Halloween costumes. Let’s just
say that with my free schedule I was begging for something fun to do apart from
sending resumes, which is what my live has consisted of for the last few weeks.
My mission: create two sets of costumes, one for a millennium party where we
decided to go as the Spice Girls and one for a simple Halloween party where we went as
the Riverdale gang otherwise known as Archie and friends.
It was with
a long list of necessities that I started my thrift store hunt. Surprisingly,
the item I thought would be the hardest to find was the first one I crossed off my list.
Orange pants are not an everyday occurrence so I couldn’t believe my luck when
I stumbled across a pair of skinny fit Jean-Paul Gaultier never worn orange
pants for a mere 5.99$! Jackpot! After that, everything else was a piece of cake!
The final touch
to our costumes was the comic strip bubbles which were the best conversation
starter ever! Let’s just say a hand full of profanities were written on those
tiny boards (might just be why I had to photoshop the first pic ;))
Hope you have
an amazing Halloween night.
Now, back
to eating candy!
