Melody Musing: First Aid Kit

First Aid Kit's second album has been the soundtrack to my life lately. Definitely my biggest coup de coeur of 2012 so far. With melodies so amazing that it's hard not to be hypnotized by their talent, swedish sisters Johanna and Klara are definitely girls to watch in 2012. 

I first became curious about their music when I heard that Mike Mogis (from my favourite band Bright Eyes) had produced The Lion's Roar. Top that with the blessing the duo gets from geniuses such as Conor Oberst (who sings on the track King of the World) and Jack White (who asked them to record single for his Third Man Records series and you've got my full devoted attention. 

To top it all off, the band's aesthetic is right up my alley. 60/70's love child and a big penchant for vintage clothing. One look at the video below and you'll understand exactly what I mean. 

First Aid Kit will be in Montreal on April 3rd to perform at La Sala Rossa. Tickets are available through Evenko. I have a feeling it will be an event not to miss...
